Vince's Bio

Vince Fulgenzi is the founding father and CEO of VITEC, Inc. in Overland Park, KS – on occasion he holds the lofty position of Chief Bottle Washer and can be found perfecting his skills at the kitchen sink.  Vince’s partner and spouse, Michelle, joins him both at the VITEC helm and the sink and lays claim to drying a mean dish.

VITEC, Inc., a multi-million dollar Value Added Reseller (VAR) opened its doors in 1989 and has enjoyed much success under the diligent tutorage of its seasoned captain, Vince, combined with the tireless efforts of a fearless (and salty) crew.   VITEC’s vision and success have been molded under the watchful eye of Vince.

Born and raised on Chicago’s Westside, Vince earned a business degree in Marketing and Management.  After a management stint at the golden arches followed by a winning career in telecom sales and sales supervision at TelCorp, Vince boasted a true passion for telephony. Recognizing he could combine his fervor with the multi-colored coat of entrepreneurship, Vince realized such a merger would likely “fit” him rather well.   He purchased the fledging Kansas City office of TelCorp in 1989, changed its name to VITEC and the fun truly began.

Vince gladly left behind the frigid winters of the Windy City and headed west towards a wide open future and the equally wide open spaces of the Great Plains…“KC’s the place Vince ought to be so he loaded up the truck and moved to OP – Kansas that is.  Swimmin’ pools and starry skies.”

With a steadfast resolve and what could only be described as a crazy entrepreneurial gleam in his eye, Vince threw open the doors of VITEC in ‘89 and has never looked back.  He cut his teeth, as a business owner, on voicemail systems and put VITEC on the map with a dogged determination, lucrative solutions and a well assembled team.   As more and more PBX companies included voicemail as part of their base offerings, Vince recognized the need to alter VITEC’s focus or perish – he sets his sights on becoming the expert in contact center’s and has achieved that goal ten fold.

VITEC, Inc. hosts the only Kansas City based one day contact center forum designed exclusively for call center executives.  Now in its twelfth year, the Kansas City Contact Center EXPO continues to educate and inspire contact center managers across the nation.  Check it out at www.kccallcenter.com

Vince is the trusted advisor for a plethora of contact centers and is called upon regularly to offer counsel to innumerable executives, leadership groups and teams interested in improving the effectiveness and efficiencies of their respective enterprises.  Mr. Fulgenzi’s advice is widely sought by those affiliated, in some manner, with a contact center and his two term stint as president of the ACCP (Association of Contact Center Professionals) only served to solidify his perch as a proven specialist in the contact center arena.
Vince has been invited to speak and share his expertise within a wide array of local and nationwide venues.  He has shared his industry insights in the form of bi-monthly articles in PTMA and ACCP newsletters, as a speaker at VITEC’s annual EXPO, and has been asked to present at users groups and participate in executive round table discussions at a variety of contact center specific forums.  His reputation in contact center and enterprise arena has sparked many research calls from local area Chambers of Commerce and Area Development Councils.

Mr. Fulgenzi is a member of the local Chevelle Club chapter and can often be found roaring his red 1969 Chevelle SS through the Starbucks drive-through in the early AM hours.  The need for patience and diplomacy has always been a part of Vince’s repertoire in both business and his personal existence but never was the necessity of these life traits put more to the test than when Vince and his youngest son, Colin (a, GASP, teenager at the time), undertook a complete frame off restoration of aforementioned ’69 hot rod.  The car turned out beautifully, no Fulgenzi’s were killed in the making and the years spent bringing the SS back to life are fondly remembered.

As a dedicated father, Vince enjoys the commradiere of his two adult sons and is losing much hair as his ten year old daughter marches ever onward towards junior high.  Zachary is the eldest and a recently promoted Army Sergeant currently stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.  He is a proud member of the exclusive EOD ranks (think “Hurt Locker”) and has always enjoyed making a big “bang.”   He’s taken his dreams by the tail and Vince is one of his biggest fans.  Colin will be a senior at Kansas State University and makes his family grin like idiots with his timely sense of humor and good marks in the renowned KSU School of Engineering.  He dazzles with his mechanical knowledge and is often heard trading car stories with his dad.  Madison, or Sonnie to family and friends, is 11 going on 20.  She tops the elementary school hierarchy as a 5th grader and enjoys soccer, softball and all things girlie – her kind heart and impish ways perpetually entertain.

Vince continues to mold VITEC into a company that remains current with the changing face of the marketplace.  As of 2010, VITEC enjoys a company profile on Twitter, Linked-in and both the www.vitecinc.com and the kccallcenter.com have had complete make-over’s befitting of a new year.
